Beta 16 adds Shortcuts, Links

We’re getting close to our minimally viable release: we’ve added a new type of widget called Link which can hold any sort of URL, including website, mailto links, and even Shortcuts. The Calendar view has also received a nice upgrade, with sunrise and sunset times shown in the background.

Visionboard launch will be coming soon, please let us know if you find any problems - thanks!!

Really, really like the addition of links. Should I be able to use deeplinks? I’m having trouble with that.

Deeplinks should work too, can you give me an example of what you’re trying to add?

Ideally deeplinks would go through a Shortcut you create, and we’ll be making that a bit simpler to set up.

I did not go through a Shortcut, so perhaps that’s the issue. I’ve just tried linking to disneyplus:// and infuse://. Both lead nowhere.

It should work if the app registered it in Vision Pro, not sure if they all do. I tried it with my other app Finalist and this opened the planner section correctly: “finalist://planner”

I think I see the bug: if you have nothing after // then the link doesn’t save, we’ll fix that. In the meantime try adding some text afterward to see if that launches the app.

Ah, great to know! Will test ASAP and report back. Thanks again for all your work; so excited for release.

While I’m thinking about it, I think one thing that might be nice is if I could have a “page 2” of a board. I don’t necessarily want a full second board that I can place elsewhere in my space, but I do think it’d be nice to swipe between a board that’s got Date/Time/Battery/Etc. and then a board full of links.

Thanks, good idea - I’ll look into this

Everything seems to be working well. I like having the links, that is a nice touch.

  • I do note that the weather just has temperature now, not the icon showing current conditions. Not a dealbreaker, but that I did like having that.:grinning:
  • It doesn’t seem to automatically set the width of the bar. I added in a link, and it was all jammed up on top of each other. Not a major dealbreaker.

Honestly, I think this is ready for an initial rollout. I am starting to see a few other “widget makers” out there, but I really like the “menu bar” format you have going. Have you thought about cost?

Weather detail bug is back.

Thanks for the bug report looking into it!

The window width is a bit of an annoying limitation of visionOS at the moment: we’re thinking of best ways to work around it.

The cost at the moment is going to be free for a single board, or $10/year or $20/lifetime for full version. Hope we can launch soon
